It is crazy that I have been here for that long but really it is definitely time to get out of here!!!!! We have a 15 hour flight to Taiwan!!
ITS WEDDING DAY!!!!!!! That is just so exciting!!! I am so happy for Jeremy and Katie and this wonderful step they are taking together!!!!
Spiritual thought: well they come from the devotionals now. I really couldn't tell you who spoke but I can tell you what the spirit taught me through the words that are being said.
BYU's president gave a talk about power and authority!! Through this gospel we can find power!! And as a missionary I am starting to understand that through that power people truly are taught!! Then if you didn't know, there are some great devotionals from apostles that only missionaries get to see... now the one I watched on Monday was by Elder Holland... it really was one of the strongest messages i have heard!!! He taught that the prophets of old saw our day!! But they also saw that no matter how hard they fought they were going to lose in the end and the gospel was going to be lost... so they lived so courageously because they saw our day!! And how in our day we are going to win and that there is nothing on this earth that can stop this gospel!!! And maybe... just maybe they saw little skinny Elder Troff... and they knew that because of what they sacrificed that ELder Troff was going to win and find people to bring back to their loving Heavenly Father!!!! He also said with strong conviction that his mission changed him... before he left he didn't know if a certain young lady would wait... and he was afraid that if he went to serve the Lord she wouldn't be there when he got back... well he took a leap of faith and went! And the conviction in his eyes was stronger than you would believe when he said the words... "MY MISSION CHANGED ME"
I hope and pray that I will have that same conviction as I am where the Lord has called me to go!! Because I WILL WIN!!!
You also might be wondering how the language is coming... well i love it!! And from what I have heard I probably will get a lot of opportunity in Indonesia to speak it because most of the companions you get don't know ENGLISH!!! Am I worried you might ask... well of course NOT!! The Lord has raised people from the dead and parted the RED SEA!!! Now since I am his servant doing his work!!! he is going to make a way!! I love this language and I actually am not half bad at it!! I know I will soon be humbled but I'm ready and excited!!!
The MTC is a wonderful place full of the spirit!! And I am so grateful to be here!!
Things that made me smile:
1) CAROB CAKE!!!!! ahhh!! You better believe that I got that and ate it!!!! My roomies liked it too but I didn't really share :) Thank you so much MOM!!!!!! There are just those little things that remind me of home so much!! See picture above!
2) The temple!! I think I have said this one before... but for going the last time for 2 years you really appreciate the opportunity it is to go to the house of the Lord!!!! The new video is awesome!!
3) Stories about my mission!! Sometimes we get our teachers to tell us some fun stories about rain up to their knees in the rainy season (winter) or sketchy computer places... yeah if this is the last letter you get... I am safe with The Lord... :)
Remember written letters are always a great thing even if it takes two weeks!!!
And also remember that i love you with everything in me!!!
Love, ELder Troff
Hurrah for Indonesia for Indonesia Hurrah!!
