Hi!
I really can't believe it is already P-day!! Like really I have no idea what has happened this week! I will try my best to remember!!
Umm....my schedule really is just class all the time! In classes now we are teaching two pretend investigators. First is Ibu Yuni, she is Catholic and really does love the gospel. We taught her about prophets and challenged her to read Enos because that chapter is just awesome!! Then we have Mas Joko. He is Muslim and does not say very much. He is very poor and has a family that is struggling. We taught him that he can pray anywhere and that God wants to listen to his prayers (that was after we taught him how to pray). Sadly, they are not real people just our teachers pretending to be people that they taught on their missions. Overall, a fun experience that really tests us on our knowledge of the gospel and the language.
I sang in church!! In Sacrament meeting, I sang for our zone of around 40 people!! The song I sang was a mix of Joseph Smith's First Prayer and Praise to the Man! Overall, super fun and people told me they loved it!
I also learned about how going to the bathroom is there....let's just say, it's different from what I am used to and I will leave it at that! :)
Elder Martinaeu went to the temple today and did initiatory which was amazing!! Then we ate some really great food in the temple!! I'm not saying MTC food is bad because it is not at all!! It is just nice to have something different for a change!!
We had a wonderful devotional on Sunday which, since they are fixing the floors in the building we usually have it in, we got to go down to the Marriot Center for. It is nice to get out of the MTC for a little bit!! Seeing how everything is the same, it almost feels like The Truman Show where we do the same thing day after day after day! The talk was on Charity and if you are wondering if I loved it, that I did!!
My Spiritual thought for the week is that it is important to have Charity, but Charity demands some sacrifice on your part!! If you have truly found that you possess the gift of charity, you should be ready to lay down your life for the people that you love which is everyone!! You have to give something up to have love!! I know that seems different, but those are my thoughts now because there are some people here that are...different, but I love them for that because they bring a new flavor of something into my life. I am grateful for that!!
Things that made me smile:
1) Jokes in Indonesian! Anything spoken in your mission language (that you actually understand) is very funny!! For example, we have had some really funny conversations after our teacher taught us the word for diarrhea. I know, kind of dumb, but very funny to missionaries who sit in class rooms for 7 hours a day!!
2) Soccer!! I do not really like soccer, but around here, it is one of the funnest things!! And if you are wondering if I score often, I do!!!! :)
Overall, I am loving it, but I do miss everyone!! I love all the letters I have received!!! It reminds me that I am not forgotten!!
I love you all!
Love Elder Troff
Hurrah for Indonesia, for Indonesia hurrah!!
